For purposes of this Go Rewards Account Terms, "Go Rewards Account" means a deposit account opened at UnionBank of the Philippines; and "we," "our," or "us" refer to the Bank. "You" and "your" refer to the owner of a Go Rewards Savings Account.

In applying for a Go Rewards Savings and Debit account, the customer is required to be a Go Rewards member. Thus, upon application, Cardholders agree to be enrolled as Go Rewards members and to be subject to the Go Rewards Program's Terms and Conditions (www.Go Rewards.com.ph/terms-and-conditions) and Privacy Policy (https://www.Go Rewards.com.ph/privacy-policy). If a customer is an existing Go Rewards member, the customer must ensure that the newly issued Go Rewards number for the cobrand is linked to their existing Go Rewards account. Linking or merging of multiple Go Rewards accounts are done thru the Go Rewards mobile app.

Ownership. A Cebu Pacific Go Rewards Savings Account is a single ownership account by an individual.
Your Responsibility. You are responsible for all obligations arising out of the ownership and maintenance of a Cebu Pacific Go Rewards Savings Account, including the amount of any check, draft or other instrument (each, an "Item") deposited to the account, any service charges to the account, our losses arising from the breach of any representation or warranty you make to us or under applicable law, and the costs we incur to enforce our rights or to collect any sum you owe us, including, to the extent permitted by law, our reasonable attorney's fees.

DEPOSITS TO ACCOUNT

Accepting Deposits. You authorize us to accept cash and Items for deposit to your Deposit Account if they are made payable to you or to your order. You also authorize us to deposit to your account wire transfers and other forms of credit (such as direct deposits or other automated clearinghouse entries) received for your benefit. Second endorsed checks, post-dated and stale checks are not accepted for deposit.

Our Receipt of Deposits. In receiving deposits, except cash, we act only as your collecting agent and assume no responsibility beyond the exercise of ordinary care. All deposits are posted to your Go Rewards Savings Account in Philippine Pesos, subject to our receipt of final payment. If final payment is not received on any Item you deposited to your account or if any direct deposit, automated clearinghouse deposit or electronic fund transfer to your account is charged back to us for any reason, you agree to pay us the amount of the chargeback, and you authorize us to debit the Go Rewards Savings Account, without prior notice and at any time, for the amount of the returned Item or other deposit, our returned item fee, any interest paid on the deposit, and any other fee we pay or loss we incur. We may also use any other legal remedy to recover the amount you owe us. We are not responsible for any transactions until we actually receive and record them. We are not liable for the default or negligence of our duly selected correspondents, nor for losses in transit.

Same Day Availability. Funds from electronic payments such as direct deposits of payroll or electronic benefits and cash deposits you make to your Go Rewards Savings Account will be available on the day the Bank receives the payment.

WITHDRAWALS FROM ACCOUNTS

ATM-Debit PIN: You are required to keep the PIN (whether Bank-assigned or the replacement PIN of your choice) confidential at all times. Any transactions effected using your PIN shall be conclusively pressured to have been authorised by you.

Card Transactions: Any withdrawal made through an ATM by the use of your ATM-Debit Card shall have the same effect as if made by you personally, and will absolve the Bank from any liability to you, or to any other party.

ATM-DEBIT Cards: You will be given a Go Rewards Visa Debit card that is linked with your Go Rewards Savings Account.

Point of Sale Transactions: You may use your card to purchase goods and services from merchants that participate in the service network(s) and have agreed to accept your card as a means of payment. Purchases made with your card are referred to as point-of-sales (POS) transactions, and will be charged against your Go Rewards Savings Account.

Refusal on Withdrawals: We also may refuse to allow any withdrawals without liability to you if we have a concern that one or more transactions on your account may have been unauthorized or fraudulent, if there is a dispute concerning the Go Rewards Savings Account that makes us uncertain regarding the instructions that have been given, the Go Rewards Savings Account is garnished or attached, the Go Rewards Savings Account has been pledged as collateral for a debt, the availability of the funds on deposit cannot be verified, any required documentation has not been presented, or you have failed to repay an obligation to us on time.

Loss of Card: Tell us at once if you believe your Card has been lost or stolen or if you think your PIN is no longer secure or confidential.

ACCOUNT STATEMENTS

General. You will be able to review transactions on your Go Rewards Savings Account daily through the unionbankph.com Website. You should review your transaction history regularly to protect your rights, including your right to dispute transactions that you believe are unauthorized.

Your Responsibility To Examine Transactions. You must examine your transactions carefully and reconcile your account promptly. You must notify us of any irregularities within a reasonable time (not to exceed 60 calendar days) after transaction occurred. If you do not notify us within that time period, then you cannot recover any amount from us with respect to such Item. In addition, we will be relieved of any liability if you do not notify us in writing within fourteen (14) days after information about the first such irregularity was made available to you.

GENERAL PROVISIONS

Dormant Accounts. Your account will become dormant after a year of inactivity. After ten (10) years of continuous inactivity, the dormant account will be escheated in favor of the Philippine Government in accordance with the Unclaimed Balances Law, and we will have no further liability to you for such funds.

Account Closing. You agree to notify us of your intention to close your Go Rewards Savings Account, and we reserve the right to request that your notice be in writing that affirmatively acknowledges that closing the account could affect your receipt of Financial Services. After a Go Rewards Savings Account is closed, we have no obligation to accept deposits or pay any outstanding Items or other debits. You agree to hold us harmless for refusing to honor any Item, credits or other debit on a closed account.

Service Charges. You agree to pay the charges as shown on the Schedule of Rates and Fees. As these charges are incurred or, at our option, when we send you an e-mail notification that you should review your account information, we will deduct the charges directly from your Go Rewards Savings Account balance. We will not be liable for dishonor of your Items or other debits resulting from our deduction of any charges as authorized by your acceptance of these terms.

Interest Rates. Your Go Rewards Savings Account earns interest at such rate and compounding frequency as shown on the Schedule of Rates and Fees subject to applicable taxes.

Signature Cards. You will provide us with any signature cards and other documentation or information that we request in connection with your Go Rewards Savings Account. You will be required to update your signature every five (5) years or whenever deemed necessary by the Bank.

Data Sharing. You hereby consent to the transfer, disclosure and communication of any personal information provided by you to the Bank and Data Analytics Ventures Inc. for the purpose of providing and operating the products and services related to the Co-Branding Card arrangement between the Bank and Data Analytics Ventures Inc. to be made via email/SMS/fax or telephone, and for other related purposes which may include updating and enhancing the Bank's records, understanding your financial needs, conducting credit checks, reviewing credit worthiness, advising you of other products and services which may be of interest to you, and for risk analysis and risk management purposes.In addition to the foregoing, the Bank or Data Analytics Ventures Inc. may disclose any personal information provided by you as may be required by applicable law, regulation, court, regulator or legal process, anti-money laundering monitoring, and reporting under the Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act (FATCA).

You agree to hold the Bank and Data Analytics Ventures Inc. free and harmless from any liability, claims or causes of action, if any, that may arise from or in any way related to any disclosure of personal information as contemplated in the foregoing.

 

Deposit Insurance.

1.     Deposits are insured by the Philippine Deposit Insurance Corporation (PDIC) up to a maximum amount of Five Hundred Thousand Pesos (P 500,000.00) per depositor.
2.     PDIC shall presume that the name/s appearing on the deposit instrument is/are the actual/beneficial owner/s of the deposit, except as provided herein.
3.     In case of transfers or break-up of deposits, PDIC shall recognize actual/beneficial ownership of transferees who are qualified relatives of the transferor. Qualified relatives are transferees within the third degree of consanguinity or affinity of the transferor.
4.     In case of (a) deposits in the name of, or transfers or break-up of deposits in favor of, entities, either singly or jointly with individuals, and (b) transfers or break-up of deposits in favor of non- qualified relatives, whenever such transfers/ break up will result in increased deposit insurance coverage, PDIC shall recognize beneficial ownership of the entity or transferee provided that the deposit account records show the following:
      i.     details or information establishing the right and capacity or the relationship of the entity with the individual/s, or
      ii.     details or information establishing the validity or effectivity of the deposit transfer, or
      iii.     copy of Board Resolution, order of competent government body/ agency, contract or similar document as required/provided by applicable laws.
            In the absence of any of the foregoing, PDIC shall deem the outstanding deposit as maintained for the benefit of the transferor although in the name of the transferee, subject to consolidation with the other deposits of the transferor.
5.     PDIC may require additional documents from the depositor to ascertain the details of the deposit transfer or the right and capacity of the transferee or his relationship to the transferor

By using your Go Rewards Visa Debit Card you unconditionally agree to be bound by the laws, rules, regulations, and official issuances applicable on the matter, now existing or which may hereinafter be enacted, issued or enforced. All the Terms and Conditions in the Go Rewards Visa Debit Card Agreement have been read and understood by you as evidenced by your signature on the application form, Go Rewards Visa Debit Card and/or charge/sales slip. These terms and conditions comprise the agreement between UnionBank of the Philippines and the Cardholder in connection with the Cardholder's Go Rewards Visa Debit Card.

1.     Interpretation

      1.1     In these terms and conditions:
      1.1.1     "Account" means the bank account held or to be held with the UnionBank in the name of the Cardholder (whether solely or jointly with another person), the number of which is or shall be specified in the application form for the Card and communicated to the Cardholder as appropriate.
      1.1.2     "Account Currency" means the currency in which the Account is denominated.
      1.1.3     "Bank" means UnionBank of the Philippines.
      1.1.4     "Card" means a Go Rewards Visa Debit Card , including any renewal or replacement Card.
      1.1.5     "Cardholder" means the person having power alone to operate the Account in accordance with the bank mandate in respect thereof.
      1.1.6     "PIN" means the personal identification number issued to the Cardholder from time to time for use with the Card.
      1.1.7     "Transaction" means any cash withdrawal or payment made using the Card, or any refund arising in connection with the use of the Card in any authorized manner for debit or credit to the Account.
      1.1.8     "Visa" means Visa International.
      1.1.9     "Working Days" means Monday to Friday inclusive except Bank holidays.
      1.2     In these terms and conditions references to the singular include the plural and vice versa and references to one gender include references to the other gender. The headings used herein are for ease of reference only.

2.     Card facilities

      2.1     The Cardholder may use the Card to pay for goods or services at retailers or suppliers worldwide who accept the Card by signing a sales voucher, by entering the Card information on the Internet, by signing a mail order purchase form showing the number printed on the Card or by placing an order by telephone and quoting the number printed on the Card, and the Bank will debit to the Account the amount of any such Transaction authorized in such way.
      2.2     The Cardholder may use the Card in conjunction with the PIN to withdraw money from automated teller machines that accept the Card when they are operating. The amount of money so withdrawn by the Cardholder shall debited to the Account.
      2.3     The Cardholder may use the Card in conjunction with the PIN to pay for goods and services by using a card operated machine at retailers or suppliers worldwide who offer this facility. The Bank shall debit to the Account the amount of any Transaction authorized in this way.
      2.4     The Cardholder may use the Card at any bank that accepts the Card to withdraw money or make payment by signing a voucher, the amount of which shall be debited to the Account.
      2.5     In addition to the amount of all Transactions, certain charges will be debited to the Account as provided for herein.

3.     The Card

      3.1     The Card belongs to the Bank and the Bank or any authorized officer, servant, employee, associate or agent of the Bank may retain the Card, require the Cardholder to return the Card or suspend the use of the Card at any time in its absolute discretion and the Bank shall not be liable for any loss or damages suffered by the Cardholder as a result thereof.
      3.2     The Card will not become valid or operational until the Cardholder acknowledges receipt of the Card by signing on the appropriate Bank documents. The Card is only valid for the period shown on it and must not be used outside that period or if the Bank has required by notice in writing to the Cardholder that it be returned to the Bank. When the period of validity of a Card expires it must be destroyed immediately by the cardholder by cutting it in half through the magnetic strip.
      3.3     The Cardholder must take all reasonable precautions to prevent unauthorized use of the Card, including, not allowing anyone else to use the Card and telephoning the Bank, in accordance with paragraph 3.2 above, to immediately acknowledge receipt of the Card.
      3.4     If the Card is lost or stolen the Cardholder or any other person acting on behalf of the Cardholder shall immediately notify the Bank or the Visa Customer Assistance Service by telephoning the number(s) from time to time notified to the Cardholder and the Cardholder must, in addition, immediately notify relevant law enforcement agencies. The Cardholder must confirm the loss of the Card by notice in writing to the Bank within seven days of having notified the Bank by telephone.
      3.5     The Cardholder must co-operate with any officers, servants, employees, associates or agents of the Bank and/or law enforcement agencies in any efforts to recover the Card if it is lost or stolen. The Bank may disclose information about the Cardholder and the Account if the Bank thinks it will help avoid or recover any loss to the Cardholder or the Bank resulting from the loss, theft, misuse or unauthorized use of the Card.
      3.6     If the Card is found after the Bank has been given notice of its loss or theft the Cardholder must not use it again. The Card must be cut in half through the magnetic strip and returned to the Bank immediately.

4.     The PIN

      4.1     The Bank will issue a PIN to the Cardholder for each Go Rewards Visa Debit Card issued.
      4.2     If the Bank issues a PIN, the Cardholder must take all reasonable precautions to avoid unauthorized use, including destroying the PIN mailer issued by the Bank promptly after receipt, never disclosing the PIN to someone else, never writing the PIN on the Card or any other item normally kept with the Card, never writing the PIN in a way that can be understood by someone else and immediately notifying the Bank if someone else knows or is suspected of knowing the PIN.

5.     Charges

      5.1     The Bank shall charge a fee to the Cardholder in respect of each cash withdrawal made using the Card for which a charge is levied by Visa, Megalink, and Bancnet in accordance with the Bank's schedule of fees from time to time in force.
      5.2     The Bank shall convert the amount of every Transaction made in a currency other than the Account Currency to the Account Currency. The Bank shall make the conversion based on the VISA Foreign Exchange rate at the time of the transaction. If the Account Currency is in Philippine Pesos and cardholder uses his Card outside the Philippines, the transaction shall be converted to its Philippine Peso equivalent based on the VISA Foreign Exchange rate at the time of the transaction. Similarly, if the Account Currency is US Dollars and the Cardholder uses his/her Card at a Philippine peso-denominated VISA Electron affiliated merchant, the transaction amount will he converted to its US dollar equivalent based on the prevailing VISA Foreign Exchange rate at the time of the transaction.
      5.3     The Cardholder shall be charged in respect of every withdrawal Transaction made in a currency other than the Account Currency in respect of the conversion of the amount of the transaction into the Account Currency, in accordance with the Bank's schedule of fees from time to time in force. The following transaction fees shall be imposed on all ATM transactions of the Cardholder outside the Philippines:
      5.3.1     US $3.00 for every ATM transaction approved;
      5.3.2     US $1.00 for every ATM balance inquiry;
      5.3.3     US $1.00 for every ATM transaction declined for reasons insufficient funds and/or exceeds the daily transaction frequency.
      5.4     The following Annual Membership fee scheme shall apply to the Card:
      5.4.1     An annual membership fee in the amount of Php 500.00 shall be imposed by the Bank.
      5.4.2     The Bank will debit to the Account the amount of annual membership when it is due.

6.     General

      6.1     The total amount of any Transactions carried out in any one day shall be limited to such amounts and by such other conditions as shall be notified by electronic means or in writing to the Cardholder by the Bank from time to time with effect from the date of such notice.
      6.2     The Bank will issue a Card only if the Cardholder has completed an application form and it has been accepted by the Bank, or if the Bank at its discretion is replacing or renewing a Card.
      6.3     The Cardholder is not authorized to enter into Transactions using the Card to a value in excess of the credit balance (if any) of the Account.
      6.4     If the Bank is asked to authorize a Transaction, the Bank may take into consideration any other Transactions which have been authorized but which have not been debited to the Account (and any other transactional activities upon the Account) and if the Bank determines that there are or will be insufficient available funds in the Account to pay the amount that would be due in respect of such Transaction, the Bank may in its own absolute discretion refuse to authorize such Transaction, in which event such Transaction will not be debited to the Account. The Bank shall not be liable for any loss or courses of action resulting from any such refusal to authorize any Transaction.
      6.5     The Cardholder may use the Card to obtain the services described in these terms and conditions and such other services as the Bank may provide from time to time. All such services will be subject to these terms and conditions.
      6.6     The Card shall in no event be used by any person other than the Cardholder.
      6.7     The Bank shall not be liable for any loss resulting from the refusal of any retailer, supplier, other bank or card operated machine to accept use of the Card in connection with any Transaction. No claims of the Cardholder against any retailer or supplier may be the subject of set-off, claim or counterclaim against the Bank.
      6.8     The Cardholder shall immediately notify the Bank if:-
      6.8.1     an entry appears on the Transaction History which is believed to be incorrect as soon as possible but in any event within twenty-five days of the date of such discovery;
      6.9     A Transaction cannot be cancelled by the Cardholder after it has been completed.
      6.10     If a retailer or supplier makes a refund by means of a Transaction the Bank will credit the Account when it receives the retailer or supplier's proper instructions and the funds in respect of such refund, provided that the Bank will not be responsible for any loss or damages resulting from any delay in receiving such instructions and funds.
      6.11     When the Card is used to effect a Transaction through Visa (whether with a retailer or supplier, a bank or from a card operated cash machine) in a currency other than the Account Currency, Visa will convert the amount of the Transaction into the Account Currency at the applicable exchange rate on the day upon which it receives notification of the Transaction.
      6.12     The Card shall not be used to guarantee payment of cheques drawn on the Account.
      6.13     The daily transaction limit refers to working days only. Transactions on non working days refer to the previous work days limit.
      6.14     The card shall not be used as payment for an illegal purchase.

7.     Termination

      7.1     The Bank may terminate the Agreement comprised in these terms and conditions by notifying the Cardholder in writing to that effect at any time. The Cardholder may terminate the Agreement comprised in these terms and conditions by notifying the Bank in writing, cutting the card in half through the magnetic strip and returning the Card to the Bank. Such termination shall be effective, subject to the provisions of the following paragraphs of this clause, upon receipt by the other party of such notice and the Card.
      7.2     The Agreement comprised in these terms and conditions, shall be deemed to remain in full force and effect if and in so far as any Transaction is completed but not debited to the Account prior to termination thereof.
      7.3     Termination of the Agreement comprised in these terms and conditions shall not prejudice any liability in respect of things done or omitted to be done prior to termination thereof.
      7.4     In the event of closure, expiry, renewal, or replacement of my Card or Card Account with the Bank, I understand and agree that my membership in the Go Rewards Program, while no longer able to earn points from my Card or Card Account because of the termination of the Agreement, my Go Rewards membership will continue to remain active unless directly cancelled with Data Analytics Ventures Inc.

8.     Miscellaneous

      8.1     The Bank shall not be liable to the Cardholder for any loss suffered as a result of the Bank being prevented from or delayed in providing any banking or other services to the Cardholder due to strikes, industrial action, failure of power supplies, systems or equipment or causes beyond the Bank's control.
      8.2     These terms and conditions and the banking practices and charges relating thereto may be changed by the Bank at any time by notice thereof to the Cardholder. Any such changes will be effective from the date of the notice or such later date as may be specified therein.
      8.3     If the Card is to be issued to a corporate entity the Bank reserves the right to vary and/or add to these terms and conditions as it may in its discretion consider appropriate.

 

This Financial Services terms govern your use of Financial Services available at our unionbankph.com Website.
Definitions: In this terms, "Account" means your Go Rewards Savings Account; "Password" means the password you use to access the Financial Services at the unionbankph.com Website and your Go Rewards Savings Account through a personal computer or other electronic terminal; and "Business Day" means Monday through Friday, except holidays.

FINANCIAL SERVICES

We offer the following types of Financial Services for your Go Rewards Savings Account via unionbankph.com Website or by downloading the UB Online app at via Apple App Store, Google Play Store, and Huawei App Gallery:
1.     Account Inquiry
      You may view your Current Balance, Available Balance and Transaction History.
2.     Transfers to Your Other Accounts at the Bank.
      You may transfer funds from your Go Rewards Savings Account to your other accounts in the Bank. You may also open a Time Deposit Account.
3.     Transfers to Third Parties within the Bank.
      You may transfer funds from your Go Rewards Savings Account to third parties ("Recipients or Beneficiaries") who have deposit accounts with the Bank. You will be responsible for informing the Recipient regarding this transfer. Such transactions are irrevocable once effected.
4.     Transfers to Third Parties outside the Bank.
      You may transfer funds from your Go Rewards Savings Account to third parties who have accounts at other Philippine banks. You will be responsible for informing the Recipient regarding this matter. Such transactions are irrevocable once effected.
5.     Bills Payment
      You may pay your bills from your Go Rewards Savings Account to institutions with which the Bank has collection agreements.
6.     New Services or Changes
      We may from time to time, introduce new or change the services offered in our unionbankph.com Website.
      
      
GENERAL PROVISIONS

Terms Relating to Goods and Services Purchased using Electronic Transfers.
1.     No Liability. The Bank will not be responsible, in any way, for any goods or services you decide to purchase, including without limitation, including matters affecting their quality, safety, legality or delivery. The Bank shall not be a party to any dispute involving such goods or services. You also agree to release the Bank and its respective directors, officers, employees, and agents from any and all claims, demands and damages between you, other persons, or between such other persons using the Financial Services of unionbankph.com, including any claims, demands or damages arising out of or related to the purchase or sale of goods or services.

2.     Rejected Funding Transactions. Payments are made solely out of funds on deposit with the Bank. If you are the recipient of a transfer from another Bank customer, and the sender reverses or charges back a transaction used to fund your transfer, the Bank immediately and without notice or presentment may debit your account for the amount of the transfer, regardless of the sufficiency of the amount in your account to fund the transaction. You are responsible for any charges incurred created because of the reversal. You may incur interest, fees and charges if there are insufficient funds in your Go Rewards Savings Account to cover such amount.
Taxes. You are responsible for paying any and whatever taxes due or may be imposed on you or your transaction arising from availment of the services and products pertaining to the UnionBank Go Rewards Savings Account. You authorize UBP to automatically charge or debit your account for any and all such taxes due.

Service Charges. You agree to pay the charges as shown on the Schedule of Rates and Fees. Whenever these charges are incurred or when we opt to send you an e-mail notification that you should review your account information, we will deduct the charges directly from the Go Rewards Savings Account balance. We will not be liable for dishonor of your Items or other debits resulting from our deduction of any charges as authorized by your acceptance of these terms.

Errors and Questions. Please notify us in case of errors and questions about your statement. Kindly send an email to customer.service@unionbankph.com. Such errors and/or questions must be brought to our attention not later than sixty (60) days after you made a transaction on which the problem or error appeared.


When you tell us about the problem, please:

1.     Provide your complete name, your Go Rewards Savings Account number or the last four (4) digits of your card number.
2.     Describe the error or transaction and explain why you believe it is an error. Provide screenshots, if possible.
3.     For bills payment, provide us the account number used to pay the bill, date the payment was sent, payment amount, and the reference number for the payment in question.
We shall provide you with the results of our investigation. For bills payment, we will coordinate with the appropriate institution.

Notes: Some local banks may charge a fee on the EFT transactions sent by our Go Rewards Debit account holders. These banks charge a receiving fee from the amount that is to be credited to the account. This is an addition to the P10 that will be charged to the client.

 

Go Rewards Program

The Go Rewards Program ("Program") is a lifestyle rewards and loyalty program that offers meaningful rewards and experiences to the Bank's Cardholders. Go Rewards Points are earned from Transactions and are reflected in the Go Rewards app. Go Rewards Points may be used to pay for purchases in Go Rewards and/or its partners.


1. Definition of Terms

1.1 In this Program, the following terms shall have the following meanings:

  1. "Account" means a UnionBank savings debit account or UnionBank credit card account held in the name of the Cardholder;
  2. "Account Currency" means, as applicable, the currency in which the Account is denominated;
  3. "Bank" or "UnionBank" means Union Bank of the Philippines;
  4. "Bank Holiday" means all regular special non-working holidays on a national level as well as local holidays in the cities of Pasig, Mandaluyong, and Quezon City;
  5. "Card" means a (i) UnionBank Go Rewards Visa Debit Card, (ii) UnionBank Go Rewards Gold Visa Credit Card, (iii) UnionBank Go Rewards Platinum Visa Credit Card, (iv) UnionBank Cebu Pacific Gold Visa Credit Card, or (v) UnionBank Cebu Pacific Platinum Visa Credit Card, linked to an Account and granted to a Cardholder upon successful account opening, including any supplementary cards or renewal or replacements thereof;
  6. "Cardholder” means a person who opens an Account with the Bank and agrees, after having read and understood the Bank’s Terms and Conditions, to be bound by such Terms and Conditions;
  7. “Credentials” mean the Cardholder’s e-mail and mobile numbers;
  8. "Go Rewards” means the loyalty program owned and administered by Data Analytics Ventures, Inc. (“DAVI”), a subsidiary of JG Summit Holdings Inc. ;
  9. "Go Rewards Account” means the Cardholder’s membership account with Go Rewards;
  10. “Go Rewards Points” mean points earned by the Cardholder member with each Transaction;
  11. "PIN" means the personal identification number issued to the Cardholder from time to time for use with the Card;
  12. “Terms and Conditions” means the specific terms and conditions which govern the opening and maintenance of the Account and use or access to the Bank’s related services, which Terms and Conditions are available at https://www.unionbankph.com/terms-and-conditions;
  13. "Transaction" means retail purchases made using the Card other than those transactions which do not earn Go Rewards Points or are excluded from the computation of Go Rewards Points set out below;
  14. UnionBank Online” means the Bank’s mobile application and/or internet banking facility; and
  15. "Working Days" means Monday to Friday inclusive except Bank holidays.

1.2 References to the singular include the plural and vice versa and references to one gender include references to the other gender. The headings used herein are for ease of reference only.

2.2 The Bank may charge or debit to the Account applicable annual fees depending on the card type issued on each anniversary year from date of issuance.

2.3 The Bank may also charge or debit to the Account charges for inactivity depending on the Card type.

2.4 Withdrawals may be subject to charges in accordance with the Bank's schedule of fees, which can be viewed in the UnionBank Online App or in the Bank's website, if imposed by the Bank, or the relevant payment systems and other banks.


General Program Mechanics

  1. Rewards Program Eligibility

    Only Cardholders whose Accounts are in current and active status and who have a Go Rewards Account membership can participate in the Program. The Bank reserves the right to suspend the participation in the Program of a Cardholder with delinquent or dormant Account status or who ceases to be enrolled as a member.

  2. Go Rewards Points Accumulation

    1. The Cardholder must ensure that his/her Card is linked to his Go Rewards Account to ensure that Go Rewards Points earned or accumulated are reflected in the Go Rewards app and/or statement of account.
    2. Below is the spend requirement to earn Go Rewards Points per card type:

    3. The following Transactions will earn Go Rewards Points under this Program:
      1. all POS-based purchases and/or online payments made to establishments including but not limited to gasoline stations, online purchases, drugstores, and supermarkets; and
      2. all PIN-based Transactions routed via Bancnet/Megalink made to establishments including but not limited to gasoline stations, online purchases, drugstores, and supermarkets.
    4. The following Transactions will not earn Go Rewards Points under this Program and will be excluded in the computation of Go Rewards Points:
      1. fees and charges
        • Annual fee(s)
        • ATM withdrawals
        • Automatic Debit Arrangements (ADAs)
        • Additional Account Fees and Charges assessed by the Bank (such as Interest and late charges, cash advance and cash advance fees, and/or overlimit fees)
      2. business transactions such as:
        • wholesale purchases - in warehouse clubs, online wholesale stores and other similar merchants;
        • fleet purchases – involving fuel, service, consumables, and other expenses related to the maintenance of vehicles for commercial purposes;
        • distribution-related purchases – pharmaceuticals, consumer goods, dealers, networking or multi-level marketing
        • other purchases that may be deemed as business transactions
      3. gaming transactions
      4. bills payment
    5. Cardholders can also earn Go Rewards Points from Transactions with Go Rewards partners. For more details on the specific mechanics for earning Go Rewards Points with Go Rewards partners, please refer to the terms and conditions published in the Go Rewards microsite (https://www.gorewards.com.ph/terms-and-conditions).
  3. Redemption

    1. All Go Rewards Points earned by the Cardholder will automatically be credited to the Cardholder's Go Rewards Account at the beginning of each succeeding month for Debit Cardholders and 3-5 banking days from statement date for Credit Cardholders
    2. Go Rewards Points will be credited to the Cardholder's Go Rewards Account and may only be used inside the Go Rewards Program.
    3. For more details on the specific mechanics for redeeming points with Go Rewards partners, please refer to the terms and conditions published in the Go Rewards microsite (https://www.gorewards.com.ph/terms-and-conditions).
  4. General Policies

    1. All eligible Cardholders are qualified to earn Go Rewards Points. Go Rewards Points earned via Transactions using supplementary cards will be credited to the principal credit Cardholder's Account.
    2. Go Rewards Points are computed on a per transaction basis. No partial points awarding is allowed
    3. Go Rewards Points may not be converted to cash, annual fee payments, or used to buy load, pay bills, top-up wallets and transferred to other Accounts and cannot be used to redeem rewards items in the UnionBank Rewards Catalogue.
    4. Go Rewards Points previously earned from Transactions which are later on reversed, cancelled or disputed by either the Cardholder or merchant, or for which a refund is claimed by the Cardholder or otherwise subject to a refund by the merchant will be reversed or adjusted accordingly
    5. The Cardholder understands that the Bank and/or DAVI may:
      1. adjust Go Rewards Points reflected in the Cardholder's Account in case of errors in points computation, system downtime, and other unforeseen factors;
      2. forfeit Go Rewards Points if, in the Bank's reasonable determination:
        • the Cardholder has violated the Bank's Terms and Conditions or this Program; and/or
        • the Cardholder has abused or committed fraud in the earning of Go Rewards Points under this Program or in its redemption;
      3. charge/bill the Cardholder the amount of forfeitable Go Rewards Points already redeemed or used by the Cardholder as penalty for abusing or violating the terms and conditions of this Program.
    6. The Cardholder must report any dispute regarding Go Rewards Points earned within thirty (30) days from receipt. Otherwise, the same is considered true and correct. Concerns related to the Go Rewards Account or app such as merging, linking, or other membership-related concerns should be reported to DAVI.
    7. The Bank reserves the right to amend, discontinue, terminate the Program or any existing arrangement with its Program/merchant partners by notice posted on UnionBank Online or other channels chosen by the Bank.
    8. The Bank may assign any or all of its rights and obligations under this Program to a third party by giving at least thirty (30) days written notice to the Cardholder prior to the effectivity of such assignment. Any assignment made by the Bank shall not affect in whatever form any of your accrued rights and obligations under this Program.
    9. The Cardholder agrees that by signing this document, his application, maintenance, or continued use of any of the Bank’s products and services shall be his acceptance and agreement to be bound by the provisions of the Bank’s Data Privacy Statement (DPS) found at https://www.unionbankph.com/privacy-security. The Cardholder agrees to authorize the Bank to collect, use, and share Personal Data (as defined under the Data Privacy Law of 2012 and its implementing rules and regulations), customer data, and account or transaction information or records (collectively, the “Information”) provided, and where permitted by law, to share it with: (i) Aboitiz and Company, Inc.; Aboitiz Equity Ventures; and the Bank, including their respective subsidiaries and affiliates (collectively, the “Aboitiz Group”) for cross-selling and for the following purposes: (a) purposes as set out in the DPS in force; (b) to identify and inform the Cardholder of products and services provided by the Aboitiz Group that may be of interest to the Cardholder; (c) for compliance to any law, regulations, government requirement, treaty, agreement, policy or as required by or for the purpose of any court legal process, examination, inquiry, audit, or investigation of any authority. This applies notwithstanding any non-disclosure agreement
    10. For any concerns other than Go Rewards Account or app concerns, a Cardholder may contact the Bank through the channels listed below. For social media channels, a representative will get in touch within 24-48 hours from the time the Bank receives the question or concern.

      In the event that a Cardholder’s concern requires an investigation, the Cardholder agrees to provide the Bank with all information required, and consent to the use and processing of the information provides, to enable the Bank to expediently address the concern. The Cardholder also allows the Bank to disclose information provided to third parties, if necessary for the purpose of addressing the concern.
